ADAPTIVE JACKET

This project centers on designing an adaptive utility jacket for individuals with sensory processing concerns. My goal was to merge functionality, comfort, and inclusivity into a garment that empowers the wearer while maintaining a modern aesthetic.

The design process began with in-person market research, which revealed a gap in everyday adaptive solutions for adults with autism, as most offerings in the market focus primarily on youth.

From this insight, I developed progressive sketches that integrated adaptive features to accommodate sensory needs without compromising style. The result is a utility jacket designed to be both practical and empowering—supporting confidence, independence, and self-expression.
